Should higher education be available to all students or to only qualified students？
Some people believe that higher education should be available only to good students，but I think higher education should be available to all students. Next, I will discuss my views through three aspects: equality in education, national quality, and human potential.
First of all，education is fair. Confucius once said，“teaching without distinction education without distinction”. That means no matter what people can be educated, not because of the rich or the poor, wisdom, ignorance, good and evil and other reasons to exclude some people from the education object. So I think higher education should be a part of individual's birthright, unless someone voluntarily waives it.
Secondly, everyone receives higher education can improve national quality. The level of education nationwide has usually been employed as a criterion to judge how developed a society is, the more developed society, the higher the proportion of higher education. If China wants to change from a developing country to a developed country, we must increase the proportion of people receiving higher education.
Besides, we can’t judge a student only by a test score. Higher education can make up for the shortcomings of examination-oriented education, such as thought, cultivation, communication, practical ability and so on. Everyone can improve themselves, create miracles, and become a pillar of society.
Of course, I also understand that at this stage the educational resources are not sufficient for all people to have access to higher education. There are also many people, because of the difficulties of the family economy, have to give up the opportunity to receive higher education. However, we can work towards this goal. The government should increase its popularity by allocating more resources to higher education, such as increasing teacher benefits, subsidizing poor students, and so on.
In the final analysis, based on education fair, improve the quality of the people, to give everyone the right to self-improvement, these three considerations, I believe that higher education should be available to all students，it will make our society better.
