摘要：The present invention provides a method and a device for forwarding amessage. The method is applied to a layer-2 network device and comprises: a messagefrom a source end is received, the type of the message is judged, and when the type isjudged to be a specified type, the message is forwarded according to the processing flowcorresponding to the specified type. Through the technical solution provided by thepresent invention, the technical problems that addresses may conflict, an IGMPv3multicast source address cannot be distinguished and the like when a multicast IPaddress needs to be converted into an MAC address in the process of forwarding amessage in the related art are solved, and the usability and security of the multicastfunction are improved.
