摘要：A reaction vessel (1) having a ring-shaped flat bottom portion (3) and a conicallyinclined bottom portion (4) is used to detect a particle agglutination reaction. Images ofparticle patterns formed on the flat bottom portion (3), middle and lowermost portionof the inclined bottom portion (4) are separately detected by first (21), second (20) andthird (19) light receiving elements to produce first, second and third signals. When thefirst signal is within a predetermined standard range, the particle agglutination reaction isjudged by comparing a difference between the second and third signals with a
predetermined upper and lower standard values. Contrary to this, when the first signal isbeyond the predetermined range, the judgement for the agglutination reaction is noteffected.
